If you ever have the opportunity to drive topless from San Francisco to Los Angeles on Highway 1, take it.  It's simply beautiful.

While mostly sunny, there were occasional light rains and insects as we took the winding road.  While the visceral experience was novel and entertaining, it brought up the question, can this be improved?

Can we have the breathtaking view and be protected from the elements without compromise?  Of course it was possible, and the SKY hardtop® was conceived.

Willow Springs International Raceway is an ideal place to test the limits of the Lotus Elise.   Naturally, team JAMMOTO got out of the office to run some laps with the factory hard top installed.  Shall we say, "baseline testing?"  Whatever you want to call it, it is essential to get behind the wheel to develop a quality SKY hardtop. 

Some fun facts: this world-famous track is recognized as an Official California Point of Historical Interest and hosted the first two NASCAR events west of the Mississippi, the first F.I.M. 500 Grand Prix motorcycle race in America, the first AMA events, the first 24-hour motorcycle endurance race, the first kart road racing in America, and the first California Sports Car Club racing on a purpose-built road course.
